Why We Built This Site
Public access does not mean that one office or database has every King County record. The Superior Court Clerk/DJA keeps Superior matters and uses KC Script. KCDC maintains its own limited-jurisdiction cases and portal. Seattle, Kent, Renton, and Federal Way maintain city court routes, while Bellevue municipal service runs through KCDC. Washington's AOC search can help locate an index entry, but the court of record remains the source for a full file or certified copy. This resource brings those distinct routes into one clear directory.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are searched and read in King County
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court
What We Cannot Do
This privately run reference resource is independent of every Washington court, clerk, and public agency. Its limits are important:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
An official or certified docket or court document must come from the clerk that maintains the original King County case. A directory can identify that office, but it cannot authenticate the record.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate search boxes shown on some pages. Each provider controls its service, results, terms, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral payment that supports the resource. King County Court Docket does not set partner fees or decide which records a partner returns.
